From May 29th to 31th, 9 selected talents immersed themselves in the Film Campus edition IFFI. Through workshops, seminars and networking events, the participants were able to gain valuable insights into several aspects of the film industry, deepen their knowledge and skills and obtain feedback for their own projects. Topics like festival strategies, directing between fiction and documentary and film production abroad were covered by the experts.

With plenty of film festivals out there and new ones popping up every day, it is easy to get lost trying to find the ones that suit your film (and you) best.
When and where to start whilst working on your film, what festivals to screen at in the beginning and what choices should you make after having your premiere? How can you get the most out of your festival run? What are the possibilities for spreading and screening your film online? In this talk we will explain the best way to get your short film out into the world.
Wouter Jansen is the founder of the sales and festi-val distribution company Square Eyes. The company represents bold, author-driven features and shorts, and in close collaboration with the filmmakers it devises bespoke festival distribution and sales strategies. He is an expert for Locarno Open Doors and First Cut Lab, and has been giving lectures at schools like Le Fresnoy, HEAD Geneva and Netherlands Film Academy.

Farzad Pak was born on August 16,1977 in Tehran, Iran. He is a long-time member of the Association of Independent film producers and association of Iranian documentary producers. During a career in film that spans more than 24 years, Farzad Pak has been involved with the production of award winning feature films, documentary films and a variety of Co-productions with International filmmakers in Iran and abroad.

Melanie Hollaus was born in 1980 in Austria. After acting school graduate she worked on performance art, short experimental videos and multi-channel-videos. Sin-ce 2008 she focussed her work on documentary film, art videos for exhibitions and music videos. She is a writer, director, cinematographer and editor.

The panel will discuss the making of a feature or short film (documentary or fiction) from the idea to the premiere screening (stages in general): How to write a screenplay? How to develop an idea? What methods are there? How to design the editing process? How to choose the technical team?
Asmae El Moudir is a Moroccan film director, screenwriter and producer. She graduated from LA FEMIS in Paris. After her several award winning short films, she made The Mother of All Lies as her debut feature documentary. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 and received the Directing Prize in the Un Certain Regard section as well as the Golden Eye for Best Documentary. The film was also shortlisted in the International features section of the Oscars. Most recently, she was nominated for the PGA Awards & Independent spirit awards and won the IDA Award for Best Director. 2024, Asmae is a member of the jury of Cannes Un certain regard under the presidency of Xavier Dolan.

How to built a narrative from a complex character? Using the tradicional narrative from classical theatre until modern cinema and serial stories.
Vera Egito is a native of São Paulo, Brazil, and holds a degree from the Audiovisual Program at the School of communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA – USP). She furthered her studies in screenwriting at the Escuela de Cine y Tv de San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba.
In addition to her work in film and television, Vera has directed music videos for various Brazilian artists and has directed over 30 commercial films from 2010 to 2016. Her latest feature film, „A Batalha da Rua Maria Antônia“, a production of Paranoid Filmes and Globo Filmes, won the Best Film award at the 2023 Rio Film Festival and is set to be released in theaters this year.
